Defining Tantra: beyond Bindi’s, Belly Dancing + Kama Sutra
Mission: Defining the Ancient gift of Tantra as a personal development + trauma healing modality, beyond it’s misconceptions
Vision: Shining a light on the possibility of genuine self healing, through the waterfall of Tantra.
A little about me: ‘My name is Billa Kate, I have been honouring Taoism, Tantra + Embodied Psychology, for the last 13 years, blending multiple fields of Science, with Spirituality.
Teaching Women these Arts is so important to me, to help them bette know thyself.
Like most of individuals that enter or sustain a Path in Tantra or Taoism, I’ve not always had an “easy” life.
For me It was 5 years of sexual + physical abuse trauma locked in my body that led me to Tantra, so it had some pretty big shoes to fill repairing a young Woman’s broken down Body, Mind, Spirit and lack of trust in life.
I’m left incredibly grateful, I can honestly say If it wasn’t for Tantra, Id not be here today, It has absolutely, everything, to do with who I am today and why I am so repaired, grateful and content.
I still to this day find it challenging to fathom how tantric sacred education is not in our education system or seen as a potent healing and transformational modality.

With that Said, WHAT IS TANTRA ?
“Tantra is a LIFE TOOL : I don’t think one should go through life without this tool, you’de be robbing yourself. It’s teachings inspire everything we need to know about ourselves and greater existence regardless of our Sex, Age, Gender, Religion preference. “
I will begin with bullet points to help catch you up to speed;
The word Tantra originates from the Sanskrit root words “tan”, meaning “to expand [consciousness],” and “tra”, meaning “liberation” or “tool.”
Tantra is an Ancient + Sacred, Embodied, Philosophy that Originated in India, By Shiva and has been dated back as far as 5000+ years.
stern Tantra is a pathway to ‘know thyself’ as both a form of matter (body) and as a soul (higher self).
Tantra celebrates the body, pleasures and Indriyas (senses).
Tantra is a gateway to higher consciousness that lifts the lower primal sex expression into the sacredness of the divine.
Tantra is a journey of duality to Unity, liberation from the human kingdom and a passageway into the Divine.
Tantra moves us out of involution and into the heart of evolution.
Tantra is amazing, incredible, inspirational and life changing.
Tantra is a gift of sacred love
Tantra is a TIME TESTED Tradition of the light, It means it has withstood the test of time, we all know not much sustains that long and if it does it is most certainly got some key hot tips for us modern women that will help us enrich our lives in some way.
The Tantra-s are divided into two main categories; 1. The Theoretic Principles of the Tantric System 2. The Practices ( Or in sanskrit ‘Sadhanas’ ) I personally feel theirs a Psychology Component and teach this aspect of Tantra due to the levels of Transformation that takes place in an individual practicing Tantra.
It is through the ongoing devotional “practice” of Tantra that the proposed aims [of Full Enlightenment + Transcendental Healing] can be attained.
Their are many forms of Tantra, Red Tantra, Neo Tantra, White Tantra, Kriya, Yoga, Charya, Anuttarayoga, Kundalini, all offering unique paths toward self realisation, beyond what our mind can even comprehend what that even means pre Tantra. Some have caused alot of the misconceptions surrounding Tantra Today by disregarding boundaries, mostly the forms that involve sexual contact, so beware of those facilitators and DO ALOT of research before you trust anyone with your sexual self. But all in all, ALL of my experiences have been positive and drama free. I feel incredibly Blessed to have landed with the sanctuary that I have, My Teacher is a world renowned teacher and has been there for me 10+ years now through my thick and thin, imprinting me with unconditional love, reaffirming these teachings and creating safe spaces for me to evolve and explore myself beyond my mind and wounds. Turning me into one pretty wholesome and loving individual again.
At its core, Tantra is about connection – whether it’s connecting with oneself, a partner, the universe, or the divine. T
The ultimate goal is to expereince the interconnectedness of all life and transcend our limitations by training our lower natures (Personality) : [Mental Body, Astral ( Emotional ) Body, Etheric ( Energy ) Body] to co-operate with our Higher Natures ( Soul ) for a more meaningful and pleasurable life. I find this aspect of Tantra of high importance for humanity in this now, because without this level of self awareness, how we are made up, and this education, we are all operating on an auto pilot mode and working only from the mind. It isn’t a great way to exist and I suppose we dont know what we dont know so many are okay with this.
Working with the Heart and the Body is also very important especially for women. The education around the heart is detailed, awakening women to a new life, teaching us that when the heart is closed due to modern life shields, or trauma, and circumstance the soul has no way to make contact. So life is without light, life becomes so surface layer, stale and disconnected causing an onset of confusion, suffering, bordem, relationship breakdowns, suicides, disfunction, alcohol and drug dependancies, and other bypassing avoidance habits.
Just like consciousness itself or like our modern education system, Tantra has many levels, I was taught to think of the practice of Tantra like a tree, that has many branches, the lower branches represent the sexual aspects of Tantra, The middle branches well they represent unconditional love + transforming energy, and the higher branches teach us the mental training I spoke of above to harness and control natures.
The Highest form of Tantra is practiced by celibate monks, nuns and lamas, so naturally in its higher form tantra has nothing to do with sex.
I do not teach “Sacred Sexuality” Tantra, I work with the middle + upper realms, focusing on The Heart + Consciousness, Raising lower primal energy up into the heart and purifying it through Practices, Esoteric Psychology + Philosophy.
I use Tantra Primarily as a Resource for Relationship Healing, Lifestyle + Health Abundance, Wound Healing and Personal Development.
An Invitation into Tantra For Modern Women
‘If, we as Women, cannot face directly into the sacredness + alive consciousness of our Heart, Sensuality + Soul we will never ever, discover our true nature, nor experience ourselves beyond the ego’
The Role of Sexuality in Tantra
Before we move On I would like to touch on Tantra’s biggest ILLUSION = That Tantra is a Sexual Modality !!
One of the most well-known aspects of Tantra is its approach to respecting sacred sexuality ie, cultivating, conserving + restoring “sexual energy” aka JING.
Tantra is NOT a sex modality rather a passageway to improve health by Jing ( sexual energy ) cultivation. While 10% of the Tantra’s Teachings include Sacred Sexuality, the ancient philosophy is certainly not karma sutra.
It is also beneficial to sit back and understand this is a 5000+ year old modality, translation is key.
What our modern tainted minds might corrupt when we hear the word, sex or sexual may simply mean sacred and life sustaining in those days. Over sexualising Ancient passages will only dissolve your connection to its truth, the authentic teachings and the messages that placed great importance on Humanity’s Development and Wellbeing.
I have included some Core Principles In which form the foundation of Tantric philosophy and practice that may benefit you:
1. Oneness and Non-Duality
Tantra teaches that all of reality is interconnected. Dualities such as good and evil, spiritual and material, or masculine and feminine, are considered parts of a whole. The practice of Tantra aims to train the lower self that causes perceived separations to experience the oneness of existence.
2. Sacredness of the Body
Unlike other healing modalities / paths that view the body as an obstacle to enlightenment, Tantra sees the body as a temple and a vehicle for spiritual, psychological and emotional growth. Every sensation, emotion, experience, and even desire can be transformed into a sacred opportunity for awareness.
3. Union of Masculine and Feminine Energies
Tantra holds a huge emphasis on the balance of Shiva (masculine, consciousness) and Shakti (feminine, energy). These consciousnesses energies exist within every individual, regardless of their sex. Masculine + Feminine are ‘natures + qualities’ not genders, their’s is a difference, each being has both masculine and feminine energy. balancing these is what tantra teaches. Tantra Practice focuses on harmonising these forces to achieve actualisation + wholeness.
4. Embracing Desire and Experience
Instead of renouncing desires, Tantra teaches practitioners to embrace them fully – but with awareness. Desire, pleasure, and even pain can be pathways to higher states of consciousness when approached mindfully.
5. Transformation of Energy
Tantra is deeply rooted in the energetics of the body, particularly the transformation of heart + Jing energy. By cultivating and directing this energy, practitioners aim to improve all areas of their life.

Tantra for Spiritual Growth
At its core, Tantra is a path of knowing thyself + personal development. Uniting Energy, Emotion, Body, Mind, and Spirit, offering a holistic approach to growth and healing.
Here’s how Tantra promotes growth:
Deepened Self-Awareness: Tantra encourages it’s practitioners to explore their inner worlds – emotions, desires, and consciousness – leading to greater self-awareness.
Expanded Consciousness: Through meditation, energy work, and mindful practices, Tantra helps expand awareness beyond the self, cultivating a connection with the universe.
Inner Balance: By harmonising Masculine and Feminine energies within, Tantra leads to emotional stability by not needing an external being to hold you, ie, as a woman your inner Masculine can begin to hold space for your emotions, allowing your relationship to improve as your not dumping unprocessed emotions toward it, rather sharing vs processing with your partner. It also leads to energetic balance, promoting inner peace and stability. The ripple effect of this shows up differently for each woman but most notice more presence, there for enjoying life more, noticing the senses more and subtleness of life more, more patience, not feeling as high strung etc
Liberation: Ultimately, Tantra aims to free individuals from the illusions of duality and ego, guiding the forward for spiritual liberation or enlightenment.
Key Takeaway
Tantra promotes self responsibility, self care and self growth by fostering self-awareness, balance, and the expansion of consciousness.
“In short, Cultivating Sexual energy is considered a Sacred + Ancient Vitality Practice Because it helps women restore, Preserve, Express + Connect to their Sexual ( source + life force ) Energy.
No Jing [ sexual energy ] No Life : Our body Literally dies when our sexual energy is at 0%
The practice [ Cultivation of Jing ] identifies, that our concentrated Reserves decrease through a ‘busy modern lifestyle’ leading to premature ageing and illness.
A Feminine Practice that connects women to the Divine, offers tools for Transformation, Personal Development, Creation, Improving our Health, Understanding the source of life itself Achieving Wholeness.
Benefits of Tantra as a practice
Beyond spiritual awakening, Tantra offers a wide range of benefits for physical, emotional, and mental well-being:
Enhanced Intimacy: Tantric practices help cultivate deeper connections with oneself and others, improving relationships and intimacy.
Increased Energy: Through breathwork and meditation, Tantra boosts vitality and life force energy.
